Joseph Merrell, III, MSW, ACSW
Joseph Merrell III, MSW, ACSW, is the Clinical Director for West Michigan
Addiction Consultants, PC (WeMAC). In that position, Mr. Merrell provides
therapy services for the addicted individual and his or her family, in
addition to accomplishing administrative duties to facilitate the maintenance
of a highly efficient and effective service delivery system.
Mr. Merrell holds a Bachelor's Degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Northern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work Degree from The University of Michigan. Additionally, Mr. Merrell is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) and is Board Certified as a Diplomat with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Mr. Merrell came to WeMAC in November of 1995, and has been in social work practice for 25 years. Twenty-two of those years have been in clinical, administrative, and/or consultative positions in the field of addiction treatment. Mr. Merrell brings to WeMAC a remarkable breadth of experience in the provision of effective addiction treatment services. Areas of specialized expertise that Mr. Merrell offers include treatment for adult children of alcoholics (ACOA's), couple's therapy, and treatment of the addicted health care professional.
